Dendrobium kingianum
Dendrobium kingianum
Temperature tolerant and compact size with a gentle fragrance as sweet as honey! One of our hardiest orchids, this Australian species is a prolific grower and great bloomer; producing upright-to-arching sprays, each with several, brightly colored dainty flowers.
With foliage usually standing between 6 to 10 inches tall, and densely growing, even the huge decades-old specimens typically remain less than 2 feet across: making them delightfully manageable. The subtle, sweet aroma of the blooms is magnified on large specimens by the sheer number of flowers, making large specimens both spectacular and fragrant. A terrific orchid for beginners and experts alike!

Dendrobium kingianum var. Silcockii
Dendrobium kingianum var. Silcockii
This is an exceptionally elegant color-form of one of our favorite miniature species! The little, crystalline-white flowers have brilliant, lavender-pink lip markings, and they bloom as sprays with and upright to arching stem.

The foliage typically stands between 6 to 8 inches tall. One of the most resilient, compact, and easy to grow orchids. Great for the miniature orchid collection, or an excellent companion plant to Cymbidiums and Cattleyas!

Established blooming-size divisions from our mother-plant.

Temperature Tolerant. February - March blooming. Species from Australia.

Dendrobium kingianum 'Maryjane'
Dendrobium kingianum 'Maryjane'
A select variety of this popular, miniature, Australian species. The flowers of this variety have colorful lavender-pink suffusion over the petals' creamy-pink base color. The flower-spikes are held nicely above the foliage and make a delicate, sweet fragrance; overall, the plant typically stands between 6 and 10 inches tall.
The strength of the fragrance is much more noticeable on larger, mature specimens where the aroma is amplified by the sheer number of blossoms; the scent of a single stem of flowers is often too subtle to be noticed by most people - so the bigger the plant grows the more fragrance it makes.

Dendrobium kingianum 'Streaker'
Already one of our favorite species, this plant also has an exceptional striation pattern on its blooms. The flowers have a multitude of fine, vibrant stripes of lavender-pink over bright white, and the lip has bold bands of magenta and white. From the cross between Dendrobium kingianums 'Speckles' and 'Jeckles', a breeding pair that has produced many nice flowers, and this plant is one of the best! . Temperature Tolerant. February blooming. Species from Australia.

Dendrobium kingianum fma. variagata 'Fireworks'
Fantastic stripes of vibrant lavender decorate the bright-white flowers of this dainty, favorite, Australian species. On large specimens the sweet and subtle fragrance of this species can perfume the air when the sprays of little flowers bloom en masse!
