The "African Plume Orchid" was introduced from Zululand and Natal, South Africa, where this species grows in only a few locations as a lithophyte (on rocks). The attractive flower-spikes bloom many small, pale lavender-pink, speckled flowers.
When grown in partial shade, either indoors or outdoors, this is one of the easiest orchids to grow and bloom, but you must remember: it is fully deciduous. This plant loses all of its leaves every year before it grows its new leaves to bloom in the Autumn.
