The rare "blue" form of this miniature Brazilian species! This vibrant flower is pastel lavender-purple and has a charming shape. The lip is a dark royal-purple around a cream throat which is strikingly marked by deep purple stripes. Flowers bloom singly.
True to its species, this petite plant is only about three inches tall when mature! Grows well either outdoors with the Cymbidiums, or indoors under intermediate conditions.
What is a "blue" orchid? The coerulea color form is often described as "blue", a term that confuses many orchid admirers, since most have no truly blue coloration: coerulea simply means the flower lacks red pigment. It is a rare genetic trait, even rarer than fma. alba (orchid albinism), and typically produces some combination of white, purple, and green floral display.
Temperature Tolerant. September-October blooming. Species from Brazil.
