This striking, Brazilian Cattleya species is long lasting and of robust texture. The handsome blooms showcase their distinctive, brilliantly fuchsia-pink lip, framed by their waxy petals that range between browns of amber, fawn and umber, and green hues of olive and sometimes bottle. Some of the flowers even carry a sweet fragrance!
One of Brazil's extraordinarily resilient bifoilate Cattleyas, a term that characterizes plants with tall, sturdy pseudo-bulbs that support a pair (only occasionally one, or three) of broad, rigid leaves. This species develops especially tall foliage, standing nearly three feet tall on some large specimens! Light loving and free-blooming!
Established blooming-size seedlings. 'Seedlings' are the offspring of pollination; as siblings they may be similar, yet each seedling is unique and no two seedlings are identical in precise color or shape.
Temperature Tolerant. September blooming. Species from Brazil.
