Big, luscious flowers and a boldly two-tone lip set this brilliant hybrid apart. These seedlings bloom large flowers, upwards of 4 inches across, that range in hue between bronze, golden, and salmon, overlaid with a copper or rosy tint, and showcase a satin-pink lip that rapidly colors to a rich burgundy center.
The parents are Cattleya tenebrosa, an all-time favorite here at the nursery for its' sultry copper color and as a superb outdoor grower, and Cattleya Gaston Doin, golden yellow and fragrant. For those of you who are interested: the lineage of this hybrid makes it one-quarter Cattleya rex and three-quarters Cattleya tenebrosa (syn.Laelia).
Established blooming-size seedlings. 'Seedlings' are the offspring of pollination; as siblings they may be similar, yet each is unique and no two are identical in precise color or shape. There is no way to tell ahead of time exactly which colors and display each will favor. Enjoy the surprise!
